For an international Shared Service Centre based in the centre of Amsterdam we are looking for a General Ledger Accountant for temporary to permanent position. We are looking for candidates who are directly available to start and have experience with working in a Shared Service environment. You will be working in the General Ledger team, where each team member has own assigned entities/countries reporting to the General Ledger Manager.


  • Responsible for executing all the General Ledger activities for the assigned entities
  • Prepare and post ongoing and period-end journal entries
  • Perform General Ledger reconciliations
  • Process recurring, allocation and period end adjusting journal entries (accruals, payroll, currency conversions, etc.)
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliation
  • Liaise with local country finance teams regarding the processing of local accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Perform journal entries summaries and account analysis
  • Perform SOX controls
  • VAT filling
  • Ad-hoc tasks and projects both national and international


  • Accounting degree and a minimum of 4 years relevant working experience
  • Strong knowledge of General Ledger and preferably SAP
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Service oriented and dedicated team player
  • Must be living in Amsterdam


  • Depending on experience 3000-3500 per month
  • Temporary to permanent contract
  • Working in the center of Amsterdam in an international team
